City of North Bay designates $345,000 for pedestrian crosswalks

An Oak Street crossing is officially going to be a signalized pedestrian crossing this year.

North Bay council agreed to officially mark the section between the City of North Bay free parking lot on Oak Street and the pedestrian walkway that links Oak to Main Street as an official crossover.

Deputy Mayor and budget chief Maggie Horsfield said it’s the section of road where everyone crosses and this year it will be a designated crosswalk with lights.

Community invited to World Autism Awareness Day event

One Kids Place (OKP) is hosting an event this weekend recognizing World Autism Awareness Day, which was April 2.

The Children’s Treatment Centre is teaming up with Canadore College’s ATHLeadership students for Saturday’s event, which runs from 9-11 am.

Families, children, and youth are invited to a fun-filled morning, featuring interactive games, engaging activities, and opportunities to connect with others in our community.
