More than a thousand people waited patiently at the waterfront Saturday night for the City's first concert and drone show. It’s one of many events marking North Bay’s 100th anniversary.
The drone show took place at Shabogesic Beach and capped off an evening of live entertainment.
The evening started at the Kiwanis Bandshell with performances by Jude Zapalla, Greg The Band, and Shore Acres while an appreciative audience sat in lawn chairs or laid on blankets enjoying the music.
Many people lined the dock hoping for a perfect view of the drone show, which was delayed about 20 minutes while technicians "worked out the kinks."

A $100,000 investment from NWOHT accelerated the program’s launch. The patient-centred program is running as a pilot for the next 20 weeks, with plans to expand when additional funding is secured. To remove barriers to care, patients will access all services in this program for free.
Police in North Bay say a southern Ontario man spent three months watching a residence in the city before stealing a victim’s vehicle – and promptly crashing it after speeding away.
The 36-year-old from St. Thomas has been charged with numerous offences, and is accused of breaking into the home, stealing the vehicle and then speeding up the pedestrian pathway on the Kate Pace Way.
But the theft was the culmination of actions by the accused that began in March, police said Tuesday.
“Between March 2025 and June 2025, the accused attended a North Bay residence on numerous occasions and surveyed the occupant’s behaviour and patterns,” police said in a news release.
The City of North Bay’s summer Arts & Culture Nights return later this month.
Officials say the Tuesday evening performances are a weekly celebration of local talent, highlighting the diversity and creativity of our arts community.
Most of the free shows are taking place at the Kiwanis Bandshell at the waterfront, with two lined up for the event plaza at the Kiwanis All-Wheel Park.
“Arts & Culture Nights are another great opportunity to enjoy live performances this summer in our beautiful Downtown Waterfront,” said Councillor Justine Mallah, Chair of Community Services. “It’s a chance to come together as a community and celebrate local talent during our Centennial year. We encourage everyone to come out, take in the music, and be part of the celebration.”
